Panel with multiple stitch techniques all exploring the colours present in a Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly.  Embroidered thread rings are strung in a vertical line, a square panel of hand stitched canvas work is inset, a pair of thread wrapped card sticks are placed to the right and are topped by a 3D machine embroidered Small tortoiseshell butterfly in minute detail.  The machine stitching is all done on translucent fabric using a normal domestic sewing machine, free machined and steered by hand - no computer scanning, paints or prints involved - just coloured thread and patience.
Mounted on white card, ready to frame.  Please note that the embroidery is raised and so will need a deep frame.
